Prevent Workplace Bullying
WorkSafe Victoria defines workplace bullying as “repeated, unreasonable behaviour”, directed towards an employee or group of employees that creates a risk to health and safety.
Unreasonable behaviour is behaviour that a reasonable person, having regard to all the circumstances, would expect to victimise, humiliate, undermine or threaten another.
Effects on a workplace can include reduced productivity, increased staff absenteeism, increased staff turnover, lack of trust between staff and management, and poor morale and physical illnesses and injuries. Financial costs can also be incurred.
